In order to have good working public transportation you need the following:

High population density
Walkable neighborhoods.
Competent government without too much corruption.
A strong economy
A control method for basketball americans, or their equivalent.

Ironically enough NYC is actually the closest the US comes to a success story as far as metros go.

Take BART, where their response to a flash mob of several dozen violent muggers on a train platform was to ban release of the footage.

Or L.A. metro link, where they built a rail line to serve the airport that never actually stops there and requires another bus transfer.

Or Atlanta. You remember the mall security guard at the trains stop? Imagine an entire metro system of that.

Or fucking Detroit. Strong contender for worst mass transit in America.

It's always this one bus I take that has all the problems, other than that I get to work only about 15 minutes later than I would have by driving a car. Same when coming back. Monthly pass is like 110$. I typically run binary/subneting drills along the way.

The government uses the shittiest, most overpriced, slow, niggerfull, noisy and hell-like means of public transportation on purpose to gain extra shekels and force the goyim to buy a car and use (((gas))).

Completely impractical in rural areas.

Public transport is nice if there's no non-whites on there, it's nice to read or browse your phone and look out the window without having to be the one driving. It's also a VERY big plus to not have to worry about finding a parking spot, I fucking hate having to drive around for half an hour until I finally find one

Time is money friend. If you spend your time waiting for public transportation doing something productive, then yes, it can be worth it to use public transport.

That is a lot of potential time saved by having your own car though.

Also, you can get a cheap used Toyota for personal use. You don't need a nice car to reap the benefits of having one.

Yes. Detroit's population is falling, and because of massive incompetence and corruption, they keep building transit links that don't actually connect to each other, and don't go anywhere people want to go.

Also, the budget keeps getting fucked up so badly because it's detroit, so one hour delays for basic bus service in the central biz district is common. 20 mile car trips that would take 4 hours and 3 transfers by bus.

They can't even get their shit together enough to beg the federal government for money with any consistency.

And of course the crime.

So, they actually added a brand new streetcar, built with 100 percent private money, and a gigantic middle finger to the city government, which serves the only part of detroit that isn't an urban hellhole, and that was designed as much as possible to serve the rich people and the tourists.

Public transportation is designed to keep low-tier plebs off of the roadways. Just imagine living in an urban shithole, tents and piss puddles as far as the eye can see, where only the elite can afford to drive upon public roadways.

San Francisco BART line is even worse.

I've been on public transit that makes sense, in limited circumstances. But in most cases, it is inconvenient, requiring walking long distances and standing in all kinds of weather with no shelter. It takes about 4x as long to get anywhere as driving. And you have to spend time in an enclosed area with questionable characters. Maybe these are not issues in the Czech Republic or Czechia or whatever you are now, but they can be serious issues in the US.

Personal transportation gives you more independence. I'm going to have to go with cars are based, and public transit is for niggers and low IQ plebs.

Finally, I'm somewhat OK with the ability of plebs having access to public transportation, as long as I don't have to pay for it (probably doesn't exist, communists always want my money).

I've never had a problem on MAX. if I see anyone sketchy get on I just switch carriages. The bus is great, transit tracker app is a lifesaver and now they have the hop pass, and will ditch paper fares end of year. Homeless people will have to load/hold the card to get on. Trimet has been based. Half the time no matter the race or gender of the driver, I'll get a day pass for half price by acknowledging the drivers existence as I board. A simple Good Morning saves me 2.50 a day.
Only beef I have is they need to bring back the articulated busses and the old color scheme. This orange blue yellow shut makes me wretch. It's not natural organic or stimulating. It's just obscene.

today the lake merit station had a fucking problem and i got stuck in a train underground between 19th and 12th for half an hour.
also parking is the fucking worst. you'd have to get at the station at 4am in the morning to have a guarantee of good parking. there are always 100 empty spots that are permit only and the parking fee is the same as a gallon of gas. fuck bart, only reason i take it is because driving a car to sf on a weekday will give me a stroke.
