ive heard in japan there are storage rooms full of stuff people have handed in thats been lost on trains. here if you lose your phone on the train there is very little chance you'll get it back. even if someone hands it in to station staff the station staff might keep it. i appreciate that honest attitude and wish it was more like that here. they can keep their anime and tea ceremonies but i am impressed by the level of honesty and low level of crime in their country.
