Prior to the internet, they could have done this. When there were only 3 TV networks, the public had no way of finding out the information.
But the tables have turned. These days, the media doesn't lead, they follow. How many times have you seen stations (local or national) reporting on some bullshit internet fad that's going around? With print media in decline and near death, they're chasing whatever is popular on the internet.
So if the documents get published, they will spread on the internet, then to the political blogs, then the media will either have to follow or be left out.

I don't think so, for a few reasons...
1. His arrogance was to the level that he thought himself untouchable. A man who will openly have pornographic pictures of under-aged girls on the walls of his home (as at least a few have reported), isn't going to worry about people coming after him.
2. If he DOES have a DMS, it's a person and not an automated switch. Remember that he was taken into custody by surprise, so if he had an automated DMS (which required a log in ever X days), the clock would have start running on that the day he was arrested.
Instead, I think his "insurance" was files, photos, etc held in safes in his homes, or maybe in an outside location; or information he gave to individuals (probably pimp lady).

I know they're slow, but I've seen records releases before where the press can come in and have access in the courthouse (not the mail-order type, which takes a few days) that minute. I'm wondering if they are doing a redaction on them.
