The EU gdp is around +20 trillion, it's very unevenly distributed, east is low and west is high and the first signs of recession is showing in Germany who are the locomotive of Europe.
Personally i think we have to continue, the eastern European countries has picked up a lot of slack since they joined but there's still a lot to be picked up.
If all countries in the EU got up to the same economical standard the gdp of the EU might have been +30-35 trillion.
So although its a slow process i think it is important to put at least some investments in the eastern EU states.
