THIS. School foodservice has turned into a money-making scam. Many schools now feed ALL kids, the excuse being "to reduce the stigma of needing a free lunch." They don't care if the kids throw the food into the trash. All they care about is serving food for those sweet sweet government benefits. There is nothing to stop a kid from bringing food or even a full packed lunch from home and also eating the free meals at school. These kids are fat because the government is stuffing their faces with food. SNAP, WIC, free food in schools, summer feeding programs that feed school kids when school is not in session... then of course there are all of the "studies" and "wellness programs" that are funded by the government, all trying to figure out why the kids are too fat.

A 2k calorie pizza is literally 3.50 at Walmart. With a double rack an oven you can cook 6 in an hour and toss the rest in the fridge and it's cost you $20 to eat for a week. Learn to make flat bread and it's cost you literally 30 cents a loaf and takes 30 mins to bake. A case of bananas is 20 fucking dollars and can be slice and frozen or just dried in a dehydrator. And if someone somehow can't do that then there are thousands of food banks and churches, mosques and community centers that will have the resources to feed them.
