So let's recap: there will be famine. There will be illness. It will be cold, and rainy. We don't know how long this will last. Our crop rotations are not set up to be resilient to these effects. They will not be made resilient. This will first become apparent in empty store shelves. Which is starting to happen now. But it's just coincidence, right? No grocery store would ever run out of food.

If they cannot compete with other producers, if they are inefficient, if the demand just isn't there for the product anymore, then the business or business man should not be artificially propped up. It's a total misallocation of resources, all that money could be in the pockets of equally important and valuable white Americans who are doing more desired work, or hell it's even preferable foreign farmers succeed if they are better or cheaper- its worse for the particular American farmers but it's better for EVERY American consumer, including that farmer

The government gives ag subsidies to drive down the price of ag products. This is intentionally done because these low prices force farmers to make up for low prices by scaling vertically (ie. buying more land and larger equipment)

When farmers buy land and equipment, they go into debt, so the banker gets paid. And when farmers are in debt, they are less likely to go "against the grain" and therefore monsanto can run roughshod over them.
