I recently turned 23, have a degree in Chemical Engineering and currently doing a paid internship for NASA. My only regret is not being married yet, so far haven't found the right one yet. I spent half of my 20's getting a PhD (applied mathematics). I've spent the last 15 years creating numerical models for chaotic fluid-flow with chemical reactions (big pharma shit) which from the get-go I predicted would be wildly inaccurate. Now I get shit on by everyone when I say climate models (aka global warming models) are bullshit even if it's warming or not when I'm just saying the methodology is fucking flawed. While I did great at college, I have played video games a couple thousand hours more than I should have. That's a lot of days spent towards those things. Now, at 30, I wonder about just foregoing video games, even a new Elder Scrolls game. Video games were usually fun, but that does not effect my life's outcome in any real way other than to let the hours pass by.

My 20s were centered around the 2007- 2008 economic downturn. It was basically one economic assblasting after another. I'm late 30s and just started recovering maybe 2 years ago.

Since that's pretty much what I want form life minus the military (we don't really have one worth joining), was slaving away working in your youth worth it? Or do you feel some regret for missing out on your 20s-30s?

Mate i live a normal life, i'm talking about this from first hand experience. Go out with any people and they're either taking picture to post on Instagram or on their phones texting/chatting online. If anything you're out of touch, seems like you get your view of modern social life form movies or tv shows. I even recently went to Miami and 90% of the people outside were on their phones.
