They are having a very hard time now that both their children are leaving the nest so they parent her like she is a toddler instead of a dog to cope with it. I have no idea why someone would drop 6-8k on chemotherapy for their dog. My family recently lost our 2.5 yr old Border Collie to cancer. We looked into chemo because our dog was so young and wasn't an old fart. The doctor told us that dogs who get chemo live for maybe a year more before the cancer comes back and is untreatable essentially. We said no thanks because it was a terrible value for the money.
