As somebody who has read quite a bit on the topic, many systems in planet colonies (and especially space habitats) require high trust groups that you know fucking well that everybody is going to die in a colony if you bring along "diversity".

So it's likely to be a Chinese colony, or at a distant stretch, an Indian or even Arabic (yes, seriously) one.

This concept art is not feasible. Unless they find a way to completely teraform mars and somehow reactivate the magnetic shield.

The first layer on the surface need to be filled with materials that could isolate and protect the colonists from high level of radiation. So it need be a thick layer of water, underneath that will be where the colonists could safely grow their livestock.

This is not counting the gravity issue and all the resources needed to build these colonies.

It would take less resources to clean up the Earth than to try and colonize the Moon or Mars.

Building a space port on the Moon will be part of the colonization effort to go to Mars.

Hard to say, because people who evolve on Mars will likely become genetically homogeneous due to uniform environmental pressures - uniform meaning every habitat on Mars will be exactly the same. Think about it - say a bunch of people colonize and live on mars, the difference in gravity, oxygen content, pressure, etc,. will dramatically transform the physical make-up of the people living there after a number of generations, evolution will accelerate. People living on Mars after many generations will not resemble humans - they will appear very different, and could diverge into a separate species all-together. The political system, I suspect, will become very collectivist.
