In an experiment you're testing a hypothesis by exposing multiple of what should be the same condition to slightly different inputs. In otherwords it should resemble the same state prior to the addition of that which is being tested the independent variable. In psychology this isn't possible to begin with because you can't compare to even similar environments as things are vastly different genetically, and even if they weren't it would not be possible to isolate a subject in order to have them grow in the exact same environment as their identical twin. You also can't control what you add, because the experiments are so poorly crafted and defined that you can't even correctly denote the measures of the outcomes or of the individual variables themselves. Why is something like miligrams experiment have any sort of merit in the field when it has never been repeated? When it has never been performed outside of a small sample, and why does it inform power dynamics. What you quickly begin to see is that these experiments are not set up to test a hypothesis but to instill a dogma. That's not always true, consider testing a culture against a drug supposed to kill a bacteria. You don't isolate a single bacteria organism, you have a culture, thousands of organisms, all slightly different. You can accurately determine the validity of the hypothesis ("does it kill this organism?") even with all those variations in organisms.
Even consider testing vaccinations. We test shit on mice, and it gives us a pretty good idea if it works, and thats a different species. Within the human population, there is an unbelievable amount of variation, yet we can reasonably demonstrate that vaccines have a significant, beneficial impact.

When you're doing a test on a bacteria culture it is presumed that other states of the test exist from before. It isn't an isolated incident there were failures in the past or there will be failures in the future. The example with the mice shows a controlled environment with a multiple inputs being tested at once. Not entirely correct, we've already established that "multiples of what should be the same condition" doesn't have to be perfect. In fact, the degree at which it can differ can be something beyond measure (differences in genetic composition of a culture of organism - or genetic differences in human population). Some factors just dont weigh heavily on the outcome, even if they seem extremely important (genetics).

As I've explained above, some things don't weigh heavily on the outcome. An understanding of the mechanism as work is much different than "cause and effect". If a restaurant changes the color of their business to red and yellow, and sales increase, the mechanism by which this works is irrelevant. We just know that it has a cause and effect, and it's repeatable to a certain degree with the desired outcome.

As the above example highlights, sometimes the cause and effect connection is so strong that mechanisms by which they act are secondary. Pavlov didn't understand how a dogs brain changes during conditioning, he just knew it was happening, and the effect was undeniable.

In psychology, experiments are possible You just need to be invasive and ignore human rights - which dampens experimental potential.
For example, there is documentation of a kid, Alfred I think, where they showed him furry animals, and when he touched them, a loud noise was played. The kid visibly developed a phobia of furry animals - he died some years later before they formally tried "deconditioning" him - and now we can't do those sorts of experiments.
Furthermore, psychology works better when you do quantitative experiments rather than control individual variables. Like linguistics. How do we know a word is a word? You don't ask 2 people and make a conclusion - you have to ask a wide population to determine if they use the word and know what it means.
A great thing for psychology would be to allow constant observation for case studies - but that would be uncomfortable because you'd have to record people when they use the bathroom or have sex.
Enter social media, where you can find out what a person is seeing, consuming, and saying in real time! There's your quantitative data right there. Shame that we don't have money to use it, though.
