Valdez is know as mother nature’s favorite child. I did some salmon fishing there, in about waist deep water while seals, orcas, and other ocean mammals swam a few meters away. When glaciers are calving it is extremely dangerous to get close to the them. Ice can casuse massive waves and overturn boats/canoes/kayaks. There is video on youtube of glacier in Greenland calving a piece of ice larger than Manhattan and taller than its largest building. It created a wave like a Tsunami.
