I'm jewish and I've always considered myself white. It's just never even occured to me to not think of myself as white since I look white, all the fellow jews I know do, and the vast majority of the jews I've seen whether in real life or in media do as well. We've also lived in europe for like 2,000 years, so since there are russian jews, polish jews, german jews, hungarian jews and so on, its always seem natural to think of ashkenazi jews as white european people, without even questioning it.
Because israel is in the mediterranean and roughly the same part of the world as europe, I've always thought of the jews of antiquity as a more or less white people as well, like the ethnic equivalent of greeks or italians, and their appearance represented by sephardic jews and the more semitic looking ashkenazi jews. Arabs are a different people and seen by jews as being relatively new to the region. Most gentiles don't realise that mizrahi jews are almost always lighter skinned then their gentile host populations and that some can look as white as ashkenazi jews. Syrian and lebanese people also know that blondes, gingers, and white passing people in general are pretty common in that area of the levant, most having people like that in their family.
So whats with this notion of jews not being white? not even the nazis said jews weren't white. Is it an american thing? from browsing Jow Forums and seeing all the anti-white journalism made by american jews, I gather that its american jews who have this sentiment and notion of not being white
