Why wouldn't they turn against him? If you actually studied the gospel and the history of early christian sects, and learned how to read between the lines, you would realize Jesus wasn't the jew messiah, and that's certainly a good thing.
Clearly Jesus was teaching against judaism. Why wouldn't he? Any decent person would.
