Both sides sometimes attack civilians and sometimes politicians or the elite, but I agree with you in that the tendency is that left wing extremists go after high value targets more often, or at least did so in the past 50 years, presumably because the establishment used to be the right wing. Right wing as in traditional right wing like manufacturing, resource, mining and weapons industries and lobbies along with their neocon politician friends, not what has been emerging as an alternative right wing in the past few years, because that one actually does target higher ups like the shithead who was killed a few weeks ago in germany where no one has even so much of a clue as to who did it besides that it was alt right motivated.
