America and Brazil are the most important countries in the New World. However, the US, by almost every metric, is far better, despite being in a weaker position throughout its entire history. The biggest difference being the racial makeup of either country.

Brazil was never colonized by settlers, ie. people who came to the new world to start life anew. Brazil was colonized by rent-seeking employess of the portuguese crown and by explorers, both of which only wanted to extract as much wealth as they wanted from the land without building any long lasting civilization. That factor, and not race, is the primary reason for the differential in development between the two nations.

Our criminal justice system is overrun with leftists that managed to pass laws that actively penalize cops that actually do their job. We have politicians that say that cops should only shoot at criminals if they are shot at first. Our prisons are at maximum capacity, and due to that fact the cops can only catch and release . We have politicians that actually say that stealing is a "survival strategy". Criminals families also get welfare because the criminals are in jail. And in some national holidays they release most of the criminals for one day, and many of them either go back to commiting crimes imediately or just dont return at all. We are a failed state, criminals run rampant and have more power than law enforcement in a lot of regions of the country. Brazil's was mainly colonized by treasure hunters and criminals, and was mainly a colony whose sole purpose was to harvest natural resources, things only got slightly better when the portuguese royal family came over here, Brazil feels like a lottery ticket that is cursed to never payout, and only drain the citizens resources

Hispanics and blacks, in general, tend to heavily favor socialist policies. Half of Africa was at one point socialist. Most of Latin America was, too. Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Guyana, Cuba, Mexico, and so on.

I literally do not know what info to trust, I might be acting like a Doomer, but i think we are also locked in a timeline where civil conflict is inevitable(like the US).
