To elaborate a bit further
The Netherlands doesn't have a big left/right political divide because we have a different system. It's hard to slander people because it's such a small country and everyone knows someone (friends/family) who likes a different party they do. Same with religion and basically anything you can think of.
The media has been trying for years now to paint a different picture of 'le ebil nazis' but then some pakistani or whatever who is also voting for that party swoops in to counter that narrative.
Race relations aren't that tense either because of how densely populated the country is.
