As you would expect from modern politics, with social media and spectacle democracy, most arguments are dumb and fallacious. Which side, however, is more prone to commuting logical fallacies? On the right, you have the boomer magapedes who are prone to making fallacious arguments in favor of Trump. On the other side, you have the twitterati left who retweet dumb options, never fact check anything, and believe themselves superior for watching TedTalks and listening to NPR. Both right and left have intelligent people that make convincing arguments, but much of this is drowned out. So my question is twofold
1. Which side generally is more responsible for the contribution to this cycle of media talking points and dumb arguments?
2. Is there a way to return the discourse to something more intelligent?

Simpletons are easily fooled by sophistry, and smart people are easy to distract with nuance. Truth is always raw and simple, that's why there have always been secret elites hiding the truth, thus gaining the value of a scarce certainty only they can capitalize upon.

Americans typically think it is some form of political ideology, so a refutation would be that the dynamics talked about in the theory are supposed to unroll themselves REGARDLESS if anyone ever called himself solialist/marxist.
