The secession that formed the Confederacy was initiated by the southern slave-owning aristocracy that depended on slave labor for their quality of life. The first states to secede were those whose slaveowners held a majority of the white vote. States where there were more poor whites than slaveowners took longer to join up. Slaveowners saw poor whites as a threat to their position, because they had no investment in the institution of slavery.
Slaveowners had no interest in paying workers a living wage, no interest in hiring free poor whites. Poor whites were seen as no better than mud, but without work or opportunities, they were left to be squatters living in the backwoods to raise malnourished children into generational poverty. Jim Crow laws were established to help maintain blacks as an underclass below even the poorest of the clay-eating poor whites, so that even in the absence of slavery, the former slaveowners could continue to exploit cheap black labor.
Abolitionists saw slavery as a societal ill because it encouraged white idleness. As long as whites had slaves around to do work for them, whites would try to avoid the kind of labor they felt was beneath them.

Poor southerners were drafted into service to do the fighting for the slaveowner aristocracy. Most had no interest whatsoever in fighting for the cause and many deserted or never reported for duty.
Up until a certain point in the war, any southern man with 20 or more slaves had an instant exemption from combat duty.

The abolitionists wanted to change those rules without following the procedures in the constitution. The confederate states then felt no obligation to follow honour that union.

However, you're delusional if you don't realize that the civil war was about rich plantation owners trying to keep their power. They're the ones that brought niggers here in the first place.

As the tyrant Lincoln declared and enforced with arms, no they don't. The union as it was envisioned by the founding fathers was died in 1865, and it was severely ill even during Washington's presidency. The only hope now is either peaceful secession or bloody revolution.
