It's ok, but I hate how insincere a lot of people are. I have added a bunch of my cohort, friends and random connections i've met at networking events and on Linkedin they sound like absolute jackasses. One guy is always brown nosing companies by commenting on every post saying "excellent post, very insightful", etc.

I just have it to browse company feeds i'm interested in, add people from networking events so they remember me, and to stalk people I go to uni with.

The only people who look at it are the HR department, bored narcissists who collect people on their profiles, and stalkers from chans.
LinkedIn is just another dataminer/seller. Why give them your data, for nothing in return? Nobody I know has ever been hired from it. I've never had a profile, never will, and nobody has ever cared. My current manager regrets starting his, because his ex stalked him through it.

Basically required if you want anything better than third shift warehouse jobs or burger flipping. Yes, it's basically your resume/CV on a public website, but employers can and do look for it when they consider hiring candidates and not having one is seen as a huge red flag.

I work in IT and I visit LinkedIn when I need a good laugh. As far as you can see, it's only "dynamic cloud products", "CRM startups", "project managers" and other shiny shills with no purpose or value. These people are the IT equivalent of Morrocan monkey sellers.

The platform itself is a technical nightmare, mostly developed by literal poo-in-loos. They have exposed all their users passwords multiple times, apparently indians are too fucking stupid to salt+hash. The marketing is also dubious to say the least. Linkedin have had a bad history of abusing the user and security exploits to spam all your contacts with their shit site, which is one reason they even gained popularity in the first place.
