im man enough to admit i dont know wtf im doing. The deep web seems like a bad place to not know wtf you are doing

it's like the regular internet for the most part, but has some really strange, bad, terrible and/or etc elements to it.

It's really nothing special. Just a place people access to find stuff they can't always find on the regular net / internet for the most part.

I think some might use it for legitimate reasons, but not sure how many really.

You only go there for a specific reason. Like buying drugs.

So type in "dark.fail" into your URL bar and you will load up a page full of verified links to various onion sites, basically the only ones you would ever want to access. Make sure you have NoScript for tor, if you don't just search for NoScript and download it and always set the page to untrusted before you do anything on it.

Because noscript is just an extension and isn't exclusive to tor usage. If a normie installs it then it's guaranteed to break most sites, that's why it defaults to that.

TOR is and always has been a redflag/honey pot. it gives you some pseudo-anonymity but the powers that be can still track you a dozen other ways and just by using TOR you get flagged.

unless you're have a CPU from before 2008, are running a version of unix you assembled yourself, connecting to the internet via an connection you aren't paying for, not connected to a location you own/are know to traffic, a connection that has no other devices on it, an uncompromised router and modem, not getting stingray'd, AND using TOR properly, not connected to a compromised node, using the proper browser addons, *and* using a mouse and keyboard lag randomizer and 3 step text translator/de-translator, AND know what you're doing, AND are not being actively monitored via airgap tools or parabolic microphone, then sure, TOR is safe.
