How can ANYONE hang themselves in their prison cell?

I'm strictly asking logistically right now. I assume they tie their bedsheets into a noose, but what do they tie it to? The top bars? The top of the bedpost? I guess maybe that'd work, but wouldn't you need bunk beds? BOr if you're a in a private cell, can you turn your bed over vertically? Would it fall over under the weight? I know guys have done it before , I'm just literally asking, physically how it's done.

Beds are bolted to the floor. The things you hang your towel on are break away. I've only been in county jail. I'm sure prison is the same. I really can't see how you could do it. There is literally nothing you can hang from. They don't have bars anymore.

You can hang yourself while lying down. Tie a noose from the end on your bed.

If he was on a regular cell, he had a toilet/sink combo most likely. Suicide cells have just a hole in the floor, you squat over if you need to shit. Suicide cells have nothing, not even a mattress or blankets. Not even your jail sandals are allowed in there. So he had to be in a reg cell, if he hanged himself. You can make a noose-like contraption with the sheet they give you- wrap that around the sink fixture, and go limp while on your knees. Or sedate yourself with the Benadryl and Tylenol 3 with codeine first, if you can’t control your muscle spasms. The guards also could’ve smuggled something in, happens every day in county jails.

If you want to die bad enough you can basically choke yourself out. Its not like a neck snapping proper hanging.

Yes, it would be strangling yourself. Obviously without the force of a drop, you're not going to be able to break your neck; but it wouldn't be very hard to get fabric tight enough around your throat to suffocate you into unconsciousness and then death.

there isnt anything to tie yourself in the drunk tank or regular cells. There are also cameras on you all the fucking time and a button to press if you want to summon a guard when you are locked up for the night.
Never been in the suicide part but I would imagine it would be that much more fucking impoasible.

In Prison the suicide watch cells literally have a metal shelf that you sleep on, it is a part of the wall it is about two feet up and is completely flat on the and the surface you sleep on and it is flush with and built onto the wall.

There is no end of the bed in prison suicide watch cells, the bed shelf is built as part of the wall.

You can’t. Even your pillow, blanket, and smock are made of stitching that can’t be removed to commit suicide.
You get utensils and toothbrushes that can’t be fastened into a weapon, and you may only use golf pencils

It’s easy to “hang yourself” when you don’t have hands to fight back with.

I work in the Psychiatric area and our suicide proof cells use either thicc dyneema sheets that can't be ripped apart and are too thicc to form anything useable or very thin cotton blend fibre with predetermined breaking points every 10cm build in. Means it's more fragile than wrapping tissue.

Yeah, that's Dyneema. Not comfy but almost impossible to cut/rip apart. We even have some overalls made out of it for those completely bat shit crazy cases that rip any other kind of clothing apart in minutes.
