I see your point, but i have long come to disagree with this notion. Love and kindness makes for a better fuel for all things. If you smite the enemy, they just want to smite back even harder. Escalation wether intentional or incidental still leads to the increase of violence just the same.

The point of subversive propaganda is to set concievable examples and goals, to activate people into agency. A movie can be mindless stupid entertainment to some, but it also serves as a source of inspiration for others.

And why wouldn't they capitalize on their materials if it allows them to make more of it. Also the profits together with the critique allows them customize their message so it can be spread more efficiently in future projects.

Perhaps they dont seek to connect with their audiences, but simply seek to steer them.
