I'm hoping/expecting these visas to be phased out as automation technology improves and when the construction industry within Japan stagnates. I believe this to be a temporary measure to maintain the current economy as the government prepares it to work with a smaller workforce.

This will probably result in an extreme rise in Japanese far right sentiment. They're already stressed and redpilled about what the rest of the world is doing and regularly have rallies where immigrants are attacked anyway. The Japanese already have the philosophical mindset that they never needed a high population to begin with and that through automation and simply increasing the skill and prospects of those that are left they can survive and prosper, especially in using the freed up real estate and financial resources that the death of elders would leave. Strategically Japan is not an industrial powerhouse of the likes of China or India and they know this. Their primary power is through their cultural and high technology exports, which do not depend on a numerous and industrious population anyway. They're well aware that the Chinese have a superior manpower advantage in any kind of conflict, and the Koreans essentially mirror them as a state that's a decade or two behind them. The Japanese government and much of the populace is well aware of this and content with a demographic transition. However in Japan there is a rising far left sentiment that's not that different than those in Germany and South Korea that is ethnomasochistic and in line with the rest of the typical globalist liberal dogma and they've been gaining power and influence. That is probably why this exists. That and a minority of people buying the globalist liberal idea of a need for constant growth and workers.

It's strange that Japan is a country where one part of the government will approve third world shipworkers to build the ships for the other part of the government's fascist rearmament. The population is either extremely radical or completely numb.
