Boomers are a crafty lot and they have a lot of secret plans. Some so secret that they fail to transmit the entire breadth and scope of their plan to their proteges. So they break up their plans into sub-plans and entrust them in pieces to different entities, but those entities are just in it for themselves of course, so when the boomer dies the plans go off the rails like a crazy train. Both. We are a small generation compared to the Boomers. Much like the "Silent Generation". Even if gen X were absolute gold, it would not be able to save subsequent generations from the massive amount of shit started by the jewed up boomer generation.
Frankly, we are not that hot of a generation either. Better than what came before and after, but mediocre at out best. We see's much of what is wrong, and many of us saw past the commie brainwashing and could tell the train was headed off the cliff since our childhood. Many more of us figured this out eventually. Some of us are still childless children who refuse to grow up (cat women and wine aunts and MGTOW). Other than bitching and complaining about stuff-- we didn't really even attempt to do shit to stop any of it. Ok, some of us did-- but our ladder was usually up against the wrong wall (Ron Paul and libertarianism). We are probably single-handedly responsible for all the doomer black-pill shit you find on-line. Gen-X is apathy, basically.
Gen-Z, if it gets its shit together, should put all currently living generations in the US into a fucking oven on DOTR. Seriously. I doubt I would survive the upcoming war anyway.

As Gen-X has transitioned into being investors instead of consumers as they’ve gotten older they’ve kept the economy going despite the catastrophe of 10 years ago. Millennials won’t be able to do that. They’re a demographically huge but economically weak generation. Their transition to investors from consumers as they get older will mean stagnation as credit tightens and business opportunities shrink, simply because there are less dollars funding said opportunities.

Gen-X absolutely flooded civil service, and clever Dem boomers created space for them. You now have this mercifully small cohort that's become used to the perks of a "guaranteed" salary and pension, who also bought their houses just before the explosion in prices in major business centres. They owe the left their unearned success. Weak parents bred weak individuals. The disconnected few that weren't able to weasel their way in to the parasitic parallel world made some pretty good music detailing their alienation though!

This. My parents managed to own TWO houses by the time I was ten. One of them they rented out. I put hundreds if not thousands of hours of work into that house, maintaining it for them as a rental property.
