I am adept at archery, which isn't saying much when it comes to firearms, but I have an understanding of wind/drop/projectile physics. If gov starts getting handsy, what is the best weapon for a layman?

Ar 15.
>Ammo everywhere
>Magazines everywhere
>Spare parts everywhere
How is this even a question
AR-15 and a 1911. AR-15 you can build a solid as fuck couple variations for under $1,200, ammo is everywhere and you can legally build your own untraceable version fairly easily.
1911 is a solid sidearm that is heavy and steady, .45 is everywhere and a heavy hitting round for personal defense.
This dont fuck around with something because you want aesthetic or to be a special snow flake.
By all means get guns, but dont discount archery for the stealth factor. Id buy a high powered crossbow first if i were you.
That's literally what I did. Armalite and Ruger at that. I hope Jow Forums senpai notices me.
Actually, when I though about it, depends on where you live and who are you gonna fight. Ar-15 is a versatile choice, but if you live in a middle of a fucking nowhere, like Arizona or some shit, getting an Ar-10 would probably be a better choice.
But If I were you I would just buy
Ar-15
Some cheap magazine-fed bolt-action 7,62x51(Or automatic one if you willing to spend more money. Some parts of Ar-10 and Ar-15 are interchangeable)
Cheap pump-action shotgun. 12 ro 20 gauge, depends on you.(You can feed pump-action any cartridge and still gonna work. It's fool-proof)
Some 9mm sidearm.
So tried and true?
AR-15 + Glock 19
Dis right here.
Yep. AR-15 is a good close to mid range rifle that anybody can pick up and maintain easily. They want to take them from us because they're the best weapon against tyranny.

have some inspiration user
Exactly what I have...Springfield Armory, “Saint” (the upper end one) and a Glock 19 Gen 4. Love them both.
Go ask on Jow Forums you massive retard.
AK47, SKS and Beretta M9

This, Ar15 is best most versatile gun.
Depends on your intended usage of said weapon
pick whats widely available, inexpensive and most importantly, what feels comfortable
comfort will inspire way more confidence than features/focus on caliber ever will.
comfort = feels natural in hand, mag release/safety doesnt feel awkward etc
like others have said, AR or glock17/19
dont forget a solid pump shotgun, like a mossberg 590
Sniper attacks are the easiest to walk away from.
Convential battles are a thing of the past.
A good .308 or 30-06 can drop most targets at considerable range.
A handgun can save your life in an ambush.
Shotguns are great for home defense with the proper shells.
An AR is more of a groundpounder's weapon
Even designated marksman carry an AR variant in battle. You need something for CQB when shit gets heavy.
take your pic
rt an AR is best, maybe a G3 or AK if you think you're gonna pull off long shots in whatever happens
No fag, 45 is garbage, unless suppressed, then good on you.
Grab an AR, they're popular for a bunch of reasons and the meme of them jamming all the time has been solved since the 70s.
If you don't like the aesthetics, frankly a Mini-14 is nearly the same thing, but it looks more like a woodsy sport rifle than what it actually is--a combat rifle with a long history of slotting floppies.
Tru dat
MG34
This entirely depends on which state you live in. How much disposable income you have to blow on gun, ammo and accessories. How many guns you plan to buy. How much training you plan o do. Your body type. An AR15 in California is a joke. Better off with a Semi-shotty like the Mossberg JMP Pro. The 1911 is a great first gun. The steel is addictive. If you want to be off grid build a Polymer80 Glock 17.
20mm
I just use this squirt gun filled with LSD so that when my assailant kills me he goes the prison during the height of a psychedelic experience.
If you have no idea what you're doing, a shotgun.
Pump action is extremely reliable. Mossberg, Remington, or a clone of one of them. A rifled barrel can turn it into a decent HUGE caliber rifle.
12ga for men. 20ga for women and pussies.
For handguns, a revolver. If something goes wrong, the corrective action is to pull the trigger again. Speed loaders or speed strips ease reloading. .38 special/.357 magnum has plenty of available ammo. .44special/.44magnum better for bear.
Automatics are for people with training. Better if you're trained, might get you killed if you're not.
Also, make sure to get right with Jesus first.
This ain't gonna be pretty.
The choice between 9mm and .45 is a very difficult one.
Both are highly effective rounds that excel in different circumstances.
It really comes down to what you would prefer, knowing the target goes down on the first shot, or having more rounds in case he doesn't
remember it is not really about the gun, but rather the operator. If you do not plant on practicing, then get the simplest gun you can. Mossberg 500 pump shotty for example.
Unless you are a Cali faggot. Then why have 10 rounds of 9mm when you could have 10 rounds of .45mm?
Just get an ar-15. Simple and reliable.

and easily convertible to full auto and can be loaded with AP rounds.
It isnt though. Only boomers would choose 45, and that's because "muh stopping power" or "knockdown power" with the advancements in load tech 9mm can match or outperform 45 is every conceivable circumstance.
AR, AK, or 12 gauge pump.
Anyone in cali who wants standard cap mags already has them. Especially after freedom week.
I really love my S&W MP 9mm. And much cheaper ammo than a 45.
Either one is fine as long as you can keep it fed.
Freedom week was glorious! But many places cancelled orders or sold out. I does create a "hard to prove case" situation for officers trying to enforce these ridiculous laws though.
Bigger holes in people kill them faster. Not going to have to shoot through an object to hit someone very often. If you only get 10, the 45 is my choice. In fact I prefer the .45LC.
>bureau of alcohol tobacco and Firearms
Why the FUCK is this even a thing.
Cheaper to shoot means more training time = better shot placement, and therefore more effective
Hawkeye in Avengers is weak as FUCK
Relative to the size of the torso, the difference in bullet diameter is damn near insignificant. 45LC. Shows your age. Fun to shoot for sure cowboy. Just get a based leo or gun shop to sell you some. Or go out of state like literally everyone else. Or armslist and get a private party to send you some, fedex guys are the arms dealers of the 21 century.
