Honestly my opinion is pretty set on this: if you do not consider the symbol anything more than it is, i.e. a representation, then it is not Idol worship.
There's nothing magical or spiritual about a cross, but there is a meaning behind wearing one, and helps focusing when in prayers.
Just like saintly intercession ; as long as it stays just that, a prayer transmitted by intermediary to Christ, and not a cult of saints, I believe it is passable, if not superfluous.

depends i would say. Some people seem to pray to the cross, and try to behave better around it like not cursing and stuff, wearing it for protection. In that case i would say yes, its idoltry. If however you just wear it to show your faith as you dont hide it and hold your faith high then i think its no issue
