Federal prosecutors charged an Ohio man on Monday with threatening law enforcement after an investigation revealed he allegedly expressed support online for mass shootings.
Prosecutors allege that Justin Olsen, 18, lived in a house with 25 firearms and 10,000 rounds of ammunition, according to an affidavit released by authorities.
Olsen, who was arrested on state charges on Aug. 7, was taken to the Mahoning County Jail where he has been in custody, facing a charge of threatening to assault a federal law enforcement officer, Cleveland.com reported.
In the affidavit, FBI agent Themistocles Tsarnas alleged Olsen posted in support of mass shootings and attacks on Planned Parenthood on iFunny, a site that allows users to upload memes, GIFs and statements.
In June, Olsen allegedly wrote in support of the Branch Davidians, many of whom were killed during a standoff with state and federal law enforcement in 1993 in Waco, Texas. “[I]n conclusion, shoot every federal agent on sight,” Olsen allegedly wrote.
The affidavit also alleges Olsen wrote “don’t comply with gun laws, stock up on stuff they could ban. In fact, go out of your way to break these laws, they’re f-----g stupid.”

The FBI affidavit alleged that Olsen wrote “Hell, even the Oklahoma City bombing shows that armed resistance is a viable method of political change. There is no legal solution.”
The Oklahoma City bombing, committed by Timothy McVeigh in 1995, killed 168 people and remains the deadliest domestic terror attack in American history.
Olsen, who allegedly posted under the username ArmyofChrist, had been under investigation since February, but a prosecutor in Boardman, southeast of Cleveland, said last week he opted not to wait to act on the information after two mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio.
Olsen allegedly admitted to Tsarnas as he was being arrested that he posted comments supporting violence on iFunny from his cellphone, telling the agent that they were "a joke." According to the affidavit, he allegedly added that his comments on shooting federal agents were “a hyperbolic conclusion based on the results of the Waco siege … where the ATF slaughtered families.”
Officers seized 15 rifles, including some which were assault style, 10 semi-automatic pistols and an estimated 10,000 rounds of ammunition from Olsen’s residence. Authorities also reportedly found a machete in the trunk of his car, according to the affidavit.
“Urging people to shoot federal agents is never acceptable,” U.S. Attorney Justin Herdman said in a statement. “This defendant had access to an arsenal and we take his threats very seriously.”
