because your premise is wrong. the government isn't giving everyone guns. therefore, the government isn't taxing the population to give guns to people. if the government was going to give 'free' healthcare to everyone, they would have to triple taxes. it isn't the healthcare that people don't want, it's the taxes and the government control.
