>be me > a cybersecurity engineer > talented, hardworking and love my job type > hate working for giant corps as there are no actual threats, all we do is just protect their data & money from going away > thought of working in a governmental oriented place, say FBI / CIA or anything that involved risk, somewhere where you jobs really makes a difference and might save someone's life
>wanting to work for feds instead of being a based hackerman
Eli Morales
the old based image of hackerman where you hack governments and shit on their servers is just a film/series thing, morever, If you plan to do anything of that sort, you should really have a full team of hackers. Working solo is just like trying to move water from an ocean with a fork.
Christian Ortiz
Dont become a glownigger user
Aiden Sanchez
besides that, is there any good argument as to why working for the feds is a bad idea? That's: Logically, politically and for the greater good.
Jackson Clark
Holy shit are you the hacker known as Jow Forums!1!?
Gavin Gray
Like really, what use is it to be patriotic and a nationlist if you refuse to work with your government? That's really counterintuitive.
Maybe
Daniel Flores
>be fed hacker >find major exploit in all >your zero day gets taken by fed script kiddies >told to stfu or die >make gs wages
Nathaniel Peterson
You'd have better luck with NSA, but I'm sure there are positions at FBI and maybe CIA for you. The competitive service has direct hire authority for IT security specialists, too.
Lucas Evans
you'll either 1) know nothing cool/interesting, or 2) eventually know too much and get suicided that said, to the extent any of them are the "good guys", i'd focus on NSA and/or DIA FBI/CIA are niggers
Isaac Foster
Really doubt if that happened as a *leak*. They are probably backdoors in every tool. Recently the tool called "Ghidra" to reverse-engineer Malwares has been found to have a backdoor in it
Nothing really slips that easily and get published online without being taken offline. If the tools are leaked and published everywhere, then it must have some backdoors in it.
I'm not sure. Still collecting information about their enviornment and responsiblities and goals. At this point they all look similar to me.
Andrew Jenkins
If we put those phases as 1-100, maybe now I'm around 65%, so yeah, more into the second phase. Thanks for letting me know how will I die
>memeflag the answer to your question is a function of your nationality, so we cannot answer
Owen Scott
Good luck getting a TS clearence when they ask you if you've posted on Jow Forums during the lie dectector test.
Asher Phillips
Honestly I'd go for it. Join up, learn as much as you can, and then moonlight as a greyhat.
Noah Long
If they've actually asked such a question I'll drop this whole thing.
Thanks, user.
Jaxon Cox
I think you are a no skill faggot who has never made a 0day, and you are here trying to fishing for talent. You problem isnt going to be solved by fishing on Jow Forums.
Ethan Kelly
>0days I don't have plenty, just 2 x 0day on major products. Not gonna name any thanks to the Non-discolsure agreement so I could get the CVEs in my name.
More or less, I'm not fishing. I'm thinking about this politically. It's like the popular meme that if you join Military then you are fighting for kikes.
Joseph Campbell
>working for the feds is a bad idea? you're a stupid fucking bastard if you think you'll be saving lives and making a difference
Jeremiah Richardson
The pay is shit.
Jack Roberts
> doing x is bad, because x is bad
elaborate why it's a bad thing.
Austin Roberts
Hey, can you change Google to jewgle?
Matthew Peterson
Either you used to work there or you are working there. Glownigger detected
>What do you think anons? Steal all FBI/CIA shit and post on Jow Forums just for the lul and Rekt these faggots.
Brody Edwards
Be /ourguy/ from the inside.
William Torres
Yeah i know what you are doing. And my original statement is still valid.
Jackson Lopez
>for the lulz are you fucking retarded mate? Why would I do that. That's really the most autistic thing anybody could do.
First you risk your job, your risk getting in prison for quite a long time, and then you risk your entire whole career. That's really not something I aspire to do.
Owen Adams
No but I had the opportunity to work with them. I moved on to a lower stress gov job.
Charles Roberts
> my statement is valid, because it's valid > circular reasoning Great one, user.
Matthew Rivera
>Nothing really slips that easily and get published online without being taken offline.
really? does the government have that much control of the internet? what about the dark net?
Charles Myers
Woah are you psychic
Daniel Hernandez
waste of time to me personally either way, but in the end I'm not making the decision.
Adrian Thomas
That's the point, user. If you really have NSA tools, why wouldn't you sell it in the deep web for a lot of bucks, hell, some vulnerabilities are worth an unspeakable amount. EternalBlue alone would be at least 100k, given that tons of devices are vulnerable to it, but no, you just publish it on the clear web for the lulz.
If that sounds right for you then you are definitely not sane.
Lincoln King
yeah bro thats totally an rce and not intended by design... proabably not a great idea honeslty, stifles your ability to do independent research, means all your experience is under nda when you go to apply elsewhere in the future and as says focus on nsa placements fbi and cia are a bunch of pathetic pasting children
Evan Edwards
> my statement is valid, because it's valid > circular reasoning Great one, user.
Wait you mean the way chip arch is subjective? That registers can have multiple purposes? Is that what you mean? WOW. You really are lurking for the best.
Justin Rodriguez
An RCE that's exposed to all interfaces, not just locally, that's the whole issue with it. Although it doesn't sound like a big arguement in general, giving a reverse-engineering tool to a whole lot of freaks of hackers and put an RCE in it does sound like a bad a idea.
>>proabably not a great idea honeslty, stifles your ability to do independent research, means all your experience is under nda when you go to apply elsewhere in the future and as says focus on nsa placements fbi and cia are a bunch of pathetic pasting children
I guess I need to do my research, thanks user for the tips.
Carter Davis
The mighty hacker known as Jow Forums wouldn't have posted using a FUCKING MEMEFLAG
Juan Foster
I know fuck all about CIA/FBI but I am USAF in cyber and if you have a bachelor's you could do cooler shit than I do for a lot more money than I make. Just a thought, if you want to glow a little bit less.
Hudson Adams
A full scope poly will not ask if you visit Jow Forums. If you volunteer this fact and seem nervous about it, they'll hammer you and try to steer you toward a disqualifying admission, but visiting a little shitposting website is not derogatory in itself.
And don't call polygraphs "lie detectors," you're just propagating a myth.
They're really not. FBI is part of the USIC but it's still a law-enforcement agency through-and-through. There's some HQ missions and they provide support to local LE, but it's mostly centered around the field office and building cases for US attorneys. NSA does SIGINT for politicians and the military, and they approve COMSEC for classified communications, and that's about it. Some of their techniques are pretty exotic, maybe that would interest you. CIA is a weird little world unto itself. They do HUMINT, analysis, and covert action, and they're pretty self-contained. Because any CIA employee can be placed under cover, they practice a much higher level of OPSEC than you'll see in other agencies.
Ryder Wilson
Op is a faggot try hard. Israel will burn.
Ayden Harris
Go suck fed dick at DEFCON with the rest of the cybersec glownigs.
Jeremiah Ortiz
They probably won't suicide him dude. Don't scare him. If you're married they just threaten to have your wife raped.
Austin Morris
The hoops they make you jump through for clearance are ridiculous. Mental evaluation, polygraph, deep questioning (what kind of porn do you watch? have you ever had x fantasies?), authorize they pull all your info, authorize them to follow you around. And the whole process takes a year. Have fun not sweating bullets through that while you're posting about niggers and how evil the pedos in washington are on 4chin.
Oh and if you smoke weed, forget it.
Nathan Hernandez
You can’t work there if you’ve posted here before hand.
James Howard
>>about niggers and how evil the pedos in washington are on 4chin. >>Oh and if you smoke weed, forget about it
Thankfully I haven't done any of that, phew.
>You can’t work there if you’ve posted here before hand. According to other anons (That seem credible to an extent) that doesn't seem about right.
so be it, I haven't done drugs, haven't posted much on Jow Forums (A few questioning posts like this one maybe, and some shitposting-tier posts)
That's unheard of, and yes, not married.
DEFCON, ew, just a bunch of white-hat-ass hackers who wants to get famous on twitter and be hip-cool.
Thanks user for shortening my research into a few keywords. Really appreciate it.
Christopher Morales
Here is the thing. The only people you can safely 'protect' in this industry are rich people. I work at the junction between Federal jurisdiction and the private sector. So, I do work with feds sometimes. They're usually working scam investigations and ransomware (depending on duties), OR they're investigating rich people and industry probs. Until hackers goes back to their old ethos, you will always be selling your hole to the overlords. And going into actual government will only make it worse. All govt sec jobs ultimately promote the zog. You *will* do things that hurt your people but you will probably rarely be able to fully estimate what those things are or how they're hurting.
I've sat and thought continually about how to start something different, to change my impact. The amount and type of info I have access to right now, via my clients, could do some major damage to the elites if placed in the right hands. But the game is deeper than I have the capacity to presently estimate, so I sit on my hands.
If you aren't going in to go out in a blaze of glory, then you're going in to lick boots. Fullstop.
Dominic Peterson
It looks like a professional gay prostitution ring for the long nose tribe. I don't know, I have no idea how it works but given how shitty things are now I guess it doesn't.
Lucas King
>>Until hackers goes back to their old ethos, you will always be selling your hole to the overlords. And going into actual government will only make it worse. What ethos? Most of the hacker groups end up hurting people than the *corps* of the *rich* or prisoned for an eternity.
Is it even possible to undo the *rich* at this point?
You're young, aren't you? Not meant to be a rude remark. Just a question... I mean, I guess if you were older, you'd understand what I'm talking about. Either that or you enjoy the taste of boot leather and you're a chronic goodie two shoes. In that case, the fed-zog will adore you.
Oliver Collins
you could say I'm between 30-45.
and I completely understand your point, you are right, but you are in a position greater than mine yet you still can not do anything.
Frankly, Let me ask you: What is really the right thing to do?
Do you meat the minimum requirements? Are you willing to get a security interview?
You usually need a BA for these types of jobs.
Dominic Johnson
You don't just go work for the FBI, you need police or military experience, and a degree- and then you need to go to the academy. Good luck if you're over 30.
CIA, they approach you, and the work is no different than what you do now, you'll sit in a cubicle and sift data. Field work, they'll find you. Hint: they don't hire IT dweebs.
Jacob Campbell
That type of power doesn't exist as a job you can apply for. It is cultivated deliberately out of passion and with full knowledge of the risks. (See: Assange).
You've touched on a problem I've yet to wrap my head around fully, but I know the whole "greater good" bit is memes and dreams for the vast majority of our sort. Only those who cut their own path do anything remotely like that.
The one place you can be assured you won't get it is via working for the govt.
I'm working on my data science skills at the moment. I think global risk and research is a legit place to be . Consulting. Developing power (information, contacts) independent of the govt. Work with and for who you actually want to.
That's my trajectory. Forge your own path, imo. Or don't.
They do hire IT dweebs. LMAO. I know they think they're high and mighty and many of them are straight up narcissistic cunts, but they are not above hiring an IT dude and stuffing him in a windowless room. They do it alllll the time.
Liam Brown
Well this nazi really speaks great words. It's settled, most likely I'll drop this whole governmental agencies thing. It doesn't seem right (ironically, taking advice from Jow Forums, although it's really the best place to know if it is right, given you all guys hate them so much that you point about their miserable aspects.)
Ian Barnes
I couldn't imagine working for a government agency and justifying and enabling their continued efforts to undermine my once beloved nation. I couldn't imagine a worse thing.
Noah Perry
I will say this- if you want to have a sweet career on the outside and ride your contacts to the grave, the FBI or CIA is a great way to do it. Can't say that either way for the NSA.
Blake Taylor
Wish you all the best. Glad you're not going to waste your talent glow-nigging
Henry Garcia
Unless you just want a generic Government job, with decent benefits, you may as well just work your way up in the private sector. You'll eventually get better pay than Gov anyway. Or just do contract work.
Caleb Flores
I'm talking about the actually interesting jobs that might make a difference. He'd just be another faceless IT drone scuttling around in the hallways.
