The damage being done to the US economy because of Trumps trade war is significantly less than the damage being done to the US economy by China.

The trade war is costing the US about $3-4 billion a month.
China through various means (such as stealing intellectual property) was causing the US an estimated $200-600 billion in damage a year.

Cancelling the trade war and letting China do what it wants has been and will continue causing significantly more damage to the US economy than just going through with the tariffs.
