Ireland's tax laws are the biggest joke in Europe, they're literally paying the richest companies to avoid tax, whilst their economy is in ruins, unemployment is sky high, the Irish are leaving, hundreds of thousands are being imported and their it's a never ending housing crisis. Ireland is fucked.

I presumed this occurred due to having a lower tax rate than any other EU country. Unless you can provide examples of where that is incorrect.

Our economy is niether fucked nor brilliant. We rely too much on foreign investment and have too much debt, but we have extremely high productivity and people are generally well off.

We do have an immigration problem, though up until recently the vast majority of the 750k non-Irish here have been European. Only in the last few years has it shifted to importing blacks and indians. This is also partly what causes the housing crisis.

Ireland's real problem is the the fact that nationalism has been essentially discredited in the eyes of the average person after almost a century of mismanagement and abuse by a supposedly nationalist church and politicians.

Our problems aren't that big, but unlike the rest of Europe, there's no real conversation about or movement to fix them.
