I know we’ve all seen the documentary about Seattle dying, but does this apply even to the richer and more developed areas? My impression of Seattle is that it’s among the best laid out and one of the cleanest and most modern American cities

Seattle, like most west coast large cities, is suffering from ridiculously high cost of housing and huge outsourcing of good jobs to 3rd world. They are cities in decline because the wages/cola is making them unliveable. The first thing to be done is to stop fucking outsourcing solid solid jobs, and stop these realtors and shitbird flipping companies for snatching affordable homes from people who need homes and keeping them off the market from people who need a home to live in. Most of these problems with these cities are being caused by politicians who are giving incentives towards job outsourcing and corrupt housing market control.

Anyway, it's part and parcel of a liberal city's downtown. When it spreads into nice neighborhoods they notify the city council and round them up and do whatever with them.

All of the Seattle neighborhoods are in pretty bad shape. You can find some solace in the Queen Anne/Magnolia areas but those have been destroyed too by homeless and lack of government intervention. You need to head East to Bellevue/Issaquah and other communities
