this guy (Bill Pulte) is on twitter and other platforms giving away millions in money and items just to spread kindness and share the wealth. He has areas for teachers, vets, cancer patients, and just average people in debt and need. Think this is the future, the wealthy spreading and giving away their wealth? He has all sorts of people following him, politicians and some celebs.
Does it make us better or worse? Is this a good or bad thing?

At a certain level of wealth, you kind of reach a situation where you'll never have to work again, and your kids are going to be set (to whatever degree you think is best), and then you've got all this time and money and you have to figure out what to do with them.
You can always go the nigger route and start inhaling kees of cocaine and buying gold-plated Lamborghinis, but that's obviously not very fulfilling because the people who go that route tend to end up miserable and then dead.
This guy's decided to wipe out urban blight and give some money away. Why the hell not? I'd probably do something similar. It'd be good hitting the rack each night knowing that you'd made a difference.

i follow him on twitter, and he does give a way a lot of money. i think he's a unicorn tho, i don't think you'll see jeff bezos or bill gates on twitter giving away their fortunes. i don't think it 'does' anything at all except alleviate some hardships for some people. that's a good thing, definitely, but i'm not sure he's making any lasting, long term difference in the recipients' lives. it's really nice to see, tho. those people are lucky, if even temporarily. i'm always too embarrassed to comment on the threads because i'd use the money for fun, all my basic needs i meet myself. other people need help.

Keep in mind that most billionaires have a lot of wealth but a whole hell of a lot less cash -- most of Jeff Bezos' wealth is of course his ownership of a huge chunk of Amazon.
And if he liquidated that to give away to folks, it would also mean he'd lose control of Amazon, and he'd say "fuck that noise" to that idea. He's obviously not done executing his vision, and I bet a lot of billionaires are like that.
