The money they do have to donate in US politics goes almost exclusively to Democrats, who oppose middle east interventions. Most politicians aren't billionaires and will do anything for a free lunch. In Trump's case however he was served far more by making friends with powerful zionist sympathizers that would otherwise use their jobs as judges, lawyers, bankers, politicians, media talking heads, etc to harass him and nickel and dime him costing him millions.
