Not sure what I'm supposed to take issue with
cantilevers? yeah they're degenerate
Most of Europe is building houses using this method as well. There is actually an international building code that most townships and cities defer to at this point.
found it
what the FUCK is that?
you dont want the ridge sitting on that outside cantilevered wall
that actually looks like it's in yurop, layout looks european, and the ladder thing going on isn't typical with american homes
cat blocks strengthen the walls big time
Is this house built entirely of 2x6 lumber? It's built like a fucking tank compared to regular stick built US houses. A regular US stick built house would have 1/3 of the ladder pieces + everything would be made out of 2x4.
Of course, I'm also a retard and I might not know what I'm talking about. But I've seen a lot of houses being built and this looks completely overbuilt compared to what I've seen.
That is the work of a Mexican framer. Just wait till you see what the drywallers do to the wiring in a place. They are fucking animals. Always blasting their chupacabra music fucking up everything they touch. When it's white framers and white drywallers guess what? NO FUCKING MISTAKES. I bought the biggest loudest portable boombox I could find and whenever one of them blasts their shitty music I turn that shit to 11
>Dooooont stop
>Beleiiiiiiiiiving
Nobody even fights me onnit because nobody hates journey.
Looks like a good framing job.
i guess if you have avalanches you need em, must be something in colorado
2x6 allows for thicker insulation
>Is this house built entirely of 2x6 lumber?
who wouldn't do this, to be honest? imagining building a house's exterior walls out of 2x4's is pretty scary
kek 99% of every stick frame house in america even fucking apartments
European houses are built like shit.
this
went to europe on business multiple times and they are not built well at all
This is what I'm used to seeing. Look at all those 2x4s. Look at the lack of horizontal bracing compared to the ops pic.
That house is disgusting. Way too small.
>kek 99% of every stick frame house in america even fucking apartments
That's crazy.
for exterior walls, use 2x6 and pack that bitch with insultation
absolutely degenerate!
they're not code to put in unless the wall height is over 8 foot or it's a load bearing interior wall
i lived in a yurop house all the exterior walls were 14 inches thick then they had a couple foot inch thich walls to support the suspended slab and the rest of the walls were 4 inches thick but brick. in the boiler room they had a half wall built to seperate where the oil tanks were i guess if they leaked it wouldnt flood your basement and you can see the honeycomb pattern of the bricks and it was built in 1999 shit was overbuilt
in the south it's not common
>build house out of cardboard
>house gets destroyed by anything
>builds another cardboard house right on top
If you can punch a hole through your wall, your house is junk.
Looks russian. Let-in braces, no birdsmouths on the rafters, unusual blocking, lumber is clearly not milled to american standards, unusual metal connections, etc. Still nothing wrong with it, I'm sure it will be torn down before it ever fails.
Wanna bet? I'm just picking and choosing my battles. If I'm going to yell into the loud wind of planned obsolescent consumerist stupidity, it better be fucking worthwhile. This is not a hill worth dying on for me because stupid people are going to be stupid regardless because they would rather tell me, and those like me, that I am retarded rather than for them to swallow their pride and realize they're being fooled.
and since yurop overbuilds their houses and buildings out of masonry that's why they're pushing 5g so hard
it's prolly colorado few of the rich folks in the mountains have swiss style houses
>Europeans dont know how small buildings and homes are built because they all live in concrete massive soviet style apartment buildings
Does anybody think that’s a lot of horizontal fire blocks in the walls?
Most houses don’t have 1/4 as many
