Unions

Red pill me on unions

In an ideal world, we wouldnt need a lesser evil to fight a great one, but we need them in shit countries like the US. Yes it keeps shit people from being fired, but also prevents your boss from dicking you over hard. Anti-union people are just temporary disenfranchised millionaires, or didnt take history class seriously.

Trump recently took unions to town by changing a rule that you can't be forced to donate to political parties. Unions are an extension of the democrat party - they take a percentage of your paycheck and use it for democrat donations to keep dems in power. It's part of how cities became locked into democrat power. Many of the unionized industries consist of -kindly speaking- the uninformed. Steel workers, teachers, people who don't know or care about all this stuff.

They take 8 bucks off you each week for fuck all, represent yourself, save $8.

Unions are only as good as their size and their members. Im in a public sector union for the government. I get guaranteed pay, job security, benefits, and in fact my shitty employer is trying to shaft me over nonsense right now and Im getting a nocost lawyer to defendme. It makes no sense for small businesses but with large employers its your only leverage. Union membership used to be 50% or more in Amerjcas booming years now its less than 20%

They protect lazy and incompetent employees and screw over hard working employees by calling seniority over performance. And you pay them for this "service". Then they take the money you paid them and give it to Democrats. Unions are for niggers.

These anons are correct. It'd be better to live in a world of small enough companies that nobody ever needs a union, but failing that, unions are a necessity. I think the main issue with them is just the unwillingness or inability to replace them with unions that contain themselves to their purpose when and if those unions lose sight of their origins.

Calling was supposed to be valuing.

Unions should be legal but should compete with other companies like they do in Louisiana for example.
The Union membership is not mandatory and so we have Unions advertising in the radio. They talk about how much better their work quality is and how it's worth it to pay a little extra for a job well done.
In my opinion these are unions done right.

Oh and they are advertising how they don't hire illegals, which is a genius advertising and it works.
I see nothing wrong with unions when the membership isn't mandatory and their power is limited.

Labor unions exemplify Pournelle's Iron Law of Bureaucracy better than any other known form of organization.

I have had the misfortune of working in 3 union jobs.

The only things they are good for are
1)taking your money
2)raising the dues next year
3)protecting shit people who should be in jail.

Things they can't do
1)Negotiate a contract
2)Protect workers who don't belong in jail.

Maybe back in the day unions weren't such shit, but in the modern world...they pretty much suck.
Fuck unions.

People shit on unions. Until they see just how powerful they can be for workers rights.

Problem I found being in one was the senior employees shit on the system to much.

But if you ever got hurt, threatened, etc they generally have a team of lawyers to back you up.

If it's such a good idea, why would you be forced, by law, to join it? It should be as voluntary as taking the job in the first place. Also, fuck the NEA and AFT. Right to Work laws should be nationwide.

Oh, yea, who cares that they also donate heavily to Democrats and protest the "concentration camps" on the border. Eat shit you simpleton.

Not only that, but unions get special access to all of your personal information and then they come take pictures of you at your work to build a profile on you. Totally not shady at all.

Save $8/week and get the same job in a non-union state for $10/hr less, goyim!

"People shit on unions. Until they see just how powerful they can be for workers rights."
They aren't fighting to get kids out of coalmines or the 40 hour week anymore.
Their bullshit schtick is just demanding less work and more pay, while the rest of society picks up the tab.

I wish my shit country could have unions. Instead of them we have Industrial Relations departments.

Collective bargaining is a fine example of capitalism as work, when you really think about it. That’s how the system should work for individuals as well.

Are you new here?

Do you work in the potassium industry?

Grandfather was a Teamster in the midwest, only has praises for Unions. Only big companies that jew their employees hate Unions - Amazon, Walmsrt, Target, etc..

Surprise, surprise, the unions donate to the party that supports them and not the other one that creates "right to work" states.

Republicans would be smart to align with the union. Most union members are conservative in thier values

Well, how unions work is you pay into and all they do is fund political campaigns you don't agree with.
And in some States of the Union they've bribed the government to make joining mandatory.

They make sure that employers can't take advantage of their employees with unreasonable working hours or unreachable deadlines etc.
At least that's how it's supposed to work - from what I understand, they're heavily political in the US.

if your work is specialized
you should unionize
otherwise (meaning anyone could do it)
don't.

They're like the police. You prefer not to have to deal with them until you have to. And when you do you better beg it's not one of the corrupt ones.
All the unionists I've met have been pretty scumbaggish but they can be useful if you befriend them because they know all the tricks in the book.

In Australia unions are tax deductible.
If you don't support your union you are literally THE definition of a boot licking cuck.

> Pay $50 a month towards your union. Get a yearly 2.5% pay upgrade and better work rights as well as legal support if needed. Write it off on tax at the end of the year.

> Don't join your union. Let your boss fuck you without lube. The government tax this money anyway and gives it to some drug addict.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Hard choice.

As long as you have a choice I don't see a problem. It's a type of competition and this is how things should be.

Public unions are dumb, industry unions do more good than bad for people in them for sure. My family and spouse have been in them and the pay rates from the collective bargaining outweigh union dues and it's not even close.

Many companies will fire you on the spot for saying the word Union out loud. That should tell you everything you need to know about why you need one.

80% of workers in Denmark are unionized, and they are literally a fucking joke. Historically, they were truly well-meaning organizations that fought for the rights of workers.

Nowadays, they are political organizations that are financially, publically and openly tied to leftist parties. They would rather fuck over their own members by demanding employers adhere ever so strictly to their impractical, retarded rules, than they would process their members cases on a case-by-case basis.

Case in point: during the financial crisis of 2008, a huge slaughterhouse (+/- 400 employees) in Denmark owned by a company called Danish Crown was facing shut-down due to the crisis. The management suggested cutting everyone's (theirs as well) wages by 150 dollars per month untill times were better, but the unions refused the proposal outright. The company explained that the only alternative would be to close the slaughterhouse and move the production to Germany, but the union refused to budge. The employees had to circumvent the union and organize independently from the union in order to accept the offer. A few years passed, the economy recovered, so did their wages, and everyone kept their job.

unions used to be super anti-illegals (probably still are)

Ever heard of Cesar Chavez? Dude would have his union members attack illegals

Unions are good for some jobs but not all. Grocery store unions are bad for example. I applied to be a checkout clerk and they mandatory i join a union. 40 bucks a week for union dues when you work 30 hours a week at 7 dollars an hour. Like if there was layoffs i'd be out picketing and fighting for the job as a cashier back and wouldnt just go to another entey level job.

>Save $8/week and get the same job in a non-union state for $10/hr less, goyim!

Unions are essentially companies that have been taken over by commies. Any problem they have would be easily solved by privitizing them.

Biggest thing for me with unions is safety. I work around high voltage. I've been forced to work directly underneath a 1500V copper rod that powers a train without having my own lock on the switch for that section of track. Supervisor just told me "I have the key for the switch you can trust me". If you spoke up about safety they would just find a way to get rid of you.

So yeah, unions have their pros and cons. But for working class people they protect them from retarded baby boomer managers in pursuit of their pile of Jew shekels.

In part they protect the current workers from new competition which isn't great but otherwise they get destroyed by saboteurs at the management level who want non union companies to succeed.
also this. they've been politically weaponized

Collective bargaining is great until it is corrupted by political power-brokers. Collective bargaining is one of the most powerful benefits of a libertarian society.

Socialism corrupts unions into a political force.
