Not in California.It's not cold enough. The snowpack was 135% in mid june but still not enough to last until next winter season. There was a heavier snowpack for mid june in 2011 and that didn't produce any new glaciers.

The snow was annoying to me bc I wanted to climb the peaks out there this summer. Many trails were impassable due to the snow. I could give a shit if it was a glacier or snowpack, but either way it fucked up more than one of my hikes this year.

I climbed a pretty big mountain in Washington state last year and everything over 8000 feet was snow and ice, even on the south face.

I would accept this if it means all leafposters freeze to death.

Here in Quebec, they have to break up the snow piles from parking lots during the summer otherwise they'd persist through to next winter.
