And that you absolutely can measure. Average house prices, average cost of a car, average cost of food, etc. You then take those prices and you compare them to the average wages and you get a baseline. We've been seeing a constant, slow decline for decades. The intentional, artificial inflation of the workforce has lead to stagnated wages definitively.
