Idk who this Jow Forums guy is but I grow marijuana and psilocybin for personal use. I also partake in homemade ayahuasca sessions a few times a year. I personally believe there are two types of psychoactive drug. Ones which make you feel good immediately and bad later on or ones which make you feel bad immediately and good later on. Basically you have hedonistic drugs and drugs which promote spiritual and mental growth. Marijuana is one of the hedonism ones for sure but it’s my one and only vice. I gave up alcohol, cocaine, pills, etc because these drugs never offer any real happiness or peace, their pleasures are fleeting and only leave you wanting more no matter how much you get.

Psychedelics are the original red pill. They are a gift given to mankind, the shamans of South America will tell you that the plants themselves taught them how to brew ayahuasca.

TLDR most drugs are bad. Even pot is bad. My reason for not having quit marijuana has more to do with my own mental weakness than marijuana being a beneficial substance. The only beneficial substances are those that facilitate deep spiritual and mental awakening, often while causing physical discomfort during the “trip”. The purge is a very important stage in the ayahuasca experience (you explode vomit and shit when the drugs really start to kick in).

I was able to quit cold turkey thanks to a 3 week hospital stay after I stabbed myself with broken glass in an attempt to get my ex-girlfriend to not leave (made more sense on meth). It was pure white knuckling hell for the first year but ayahuasca sessions actually helped me a lot, probably saved my life in all honesty. I would get so much relief from cravings in the weeks following an ayahuasca session. I’m sure there are people in this thread right now struggling to quit. After having been an addict myself, and gone through AA and 12 step programs. I learned that reformed addicts, with some of the absolute worst degenerate lives before they got clean. End up going the complete opposite way, to an extreme, and being some of the absolute best people around. Helping others and being selfless. It is kind of cult like, but in a good way.

But yeah, active addicts are some of the worst degenerates ever, and some truly have no hope. They aren't smart enough to find/get the help that is available and stick with it. If someone has been an addict for 10 years, they are 1 or 2% chance to get better. Their brain just doesn't work the same as it use to. Prefrontal cortex gets absolutely screwed and if they can't get it figured out after 10 years, they probably never will. People who go for 5 years probably 50 or 60% chance to turn it around. 1 to 5 years they have a really good chance.

you have no idea what you're talking about. The levels of muscimol in amanita muscaria mushrooms is below lethal levels but still drinking too much shroom tea made from amanita can kill you. There's another breed of amanita (pantherina) which does contain lethal amounts of the poison.

Secondly, the experience of muscarin isn't pleasant. It feels like you've been poisoned, your body temperature is out of control and you just feel ill in general. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
