Several things. I met and had friendships with black kids and realised they always acted a bit different from the rest of the white kids: louder, always the class clown, and always had a bit of arrogance. They got on my nerves as they got older and their behaviour became less innocent and more malicious. Not to mention, the main drug dealers in my town were black haha
We also spent a whole month talking about the Jewish Diaspora in 9th Grade history, and the topic of how frequently they were ran out of their host countries came up. I asked my teacher "why were the Jews always persecuted by every country they entered?" He had no response. It didn't click right away but eventually I came to the realization that the Jews had reason to be kicked out at ***LEAST*** one of those times, that's a damn big number after all. But the idea of Jews not always being good was taboo to me, and it took a long time to see.
The final nail in the coffin was noticing how much white people and white identity had been shit on by everyone, even my own friends were now partaking in the whole "fuck wypipo" business. I've always been interested in history, so seeing my peers talking badly about some of the most important people and events in history because they were white always left a sour taste in my mouth.
Once I came to Jow Forums, things made a little more sense, despite all of the shitposts I definitely understood more. It really left me distraught at first; I was a DIE HARD lefty before coming here, and by Jow Forums standards I'm probably still a bit of a lefty. I guess the biggest lesson was culture and biology, less so actual politics and running of a country.
