The Church opposes homosexuality and considers sodomy/gay sex to be one of the more serious someone can commit. Those that may have homosexual urges are told to pray, look to the Savior for strength in overcoming their vices, and not engage in homosexual activity. The Church never said it's ok to identify as gay or live a gay life style. The church changed a policy that barred children who had gay parents from being baptized until they turned 18, as to not create confusion and conflicts in the home. The policy was change to allow for the Baptistism of children who are being raised by gays so long as the parents say it is ok.
