The only reasons to push bug-eating is to demoralize and dehumanize white people, and also to lower the general public IQ. Bug protein is a staple of African diets (because they're too incompetent to farm) and since it's a crude form of protein their general IQ is below 85. Humans require animal-based sources of protein to sustain higher cognitive function.

I think they were already trying to push that in 2000 or so . People are trying to push bug eating because the elite are wanting to cultivate a more materially efficient slave food. The Vegan diet was promoted not for health reasons, but because it was believed that plants could be grown and produce roughly equivalent nutrition with less water and land usage. Everyone is aware this was a failure, too many vital nutrients are lacking, so now they're looking to grow trillions of bugs for the slave caste to eat instead.

I guess its an instinctive fear. Many bugs are poisonous and the nuances between poisonous and non poisonous insects are difficult to ascertain especially to the naked eye. Dislike of eating leafy greens or vegetables has been linked to this fear too.

In general, the sentiment that "protein is protein" isn't true. Human beings need more than isolated protein, we need complete amino acids, and we need adequate levels of them. Bugs and insects are primary carriers of parasites and disease. An instinctual aversion to them is a survival mechanism. Avoiding parasite infection and potentially fatal illness is more advantageous than getting a tiny handful of calories from the evolutionary perspective.
