When i went into the restaurant they asked if we had reservations, but with a tone that implied we needed reservations, so i asked “No but did we need some” to which she replied “Well you have 5 people in your party”. 5 people is considered a lot here? i worked in restaurants in the states and we regularly had impromptu parties of 20+ every hour. this wasn’t a small building, either.
same thing happened with a coworker. we went to a french steakhouse here in cambridge, just us 2, and asked if we had reservations. I don’t understand why you need reservations at every single place?
