As a right-leaning libertarian (mostly libertarian), I'm moderately familiar with Russian history. For example, I know how the Soviets did most of the fighting against Nazi Germany in WW2. I know the Western Allies sweeped in at the last minute, claimed victory, and barely mentioned how important the Soviets were in the fight. It's NOT common knowledge here that way more Soviets died than Western Allies in the war.

I also respect how the Russian people reformed their country and rose again after the fall of the USSR. That's impressive. I also have huge respect for your current sense of nationalism and populism. Russia doesn't seem to give a fuck about globalism or the current world order, and is focusing on itself. Top notch. I've also worked with several Russian programmers in my job, and they were all great workers and quite smart.

However, right-leaning Americans are ignorant and STILL think Russians are secret communists.
