NOAA is intentionally fucking up the track predictions to make Trump look bad for cutting their climate research funding. There will be no turn to the north, it will continue west through the state, devastating a huge path through central Florida before entering the gulf and restrengthening. This is why Trump mentioned Alabama and other gulf states. NOAA is intentionally ignoring the high pressure systems that will prevent the storm from turning north.
~30 minutes to go before NOAA19 does a pass over Florida. Over the next few hours we should get some fresh satellite images for those who are interested. Also, if anyone cares, I set up a raspberry pi outside my window with a temperature, humidity, and pressure sensor. Sadly I am somewhat far away from the hurricane but I wrote a quick script in python to collect the data every five minutes and will graph it after the storm to see if there are any interesting patterns that develop. If you are interested in that type of data you can get it from all the ham radio weather stations available on aprs.fi
