On Sunday, Dorian’s maximum sustained winds reached 185 mph (297 kph), with gusts up to 220 mph (354 kph), tying the record for the most powerful Atlantic hurricane to ever make landfall.
That equaled the Labor Day hurricane of 1935, before storms were named.
The only recorded storm that was more powerful was Hurricane Allen in 1980, with 190 mph (305 kph) winds, though it did not make landfall at that strength.

digits and it happens

The hurricane is starting to turn North. Just as predicted by the models.
The NOAA models have been shown to be highly accurate, as predicted. The fact that many are surprised at this shows a shameful level of ignorance amongst many posters in this thread.
Meteorologists are highly educated professionals who dedicate their lives to understanding complex weather systems, they are more intelligent than a bunch of doomsayers on the internet.
Once again Science wins.
For those who disagree with my assessment above, please do not feel entitled to question and challenge my conclusions about the impacts of climate change. However, while I accept the legitimacy of your arguments, your efforts are counterproductive in the long run, as they will only lead to more climate change denial – further fueling false climate change believers.
>starting to turn north >literally still moving at 270

Hurricane Dorian, a powerful Category 5 storm, roared over the Bahamas on Sunday making landfall on three different islands with punishing sustained winds of 185 mph and gusts that reached speeds of 225 mph.
> Dorian proved to be a historic hurricane, the strongest ever during modern record-keeping to make landfall in the Bahamas and, with sustained 185-mph winds, it's now the second-strongest hurricane, by wind speed, ever recorded in the Atlantic basin. Dorian now stands behind only Hurricane Allen, the strongest storm ever recorded in the Atlantic basin. Allen thundered over the Gulf of Mexico in August 1980 and achieved sustained wind speeds of 190 mph before making landfall near the U.S.-Mexico border.
Keep praying for Dorian, focus on the Miami landfall.
Annular hurricanes are just terrifying to look at.

Watch what happens when it gets as close as it did before when it got BTFO and moved backwards. Same will happens til it cruises that line of BTFO that has been made.

>For those who disagree with my assessment above I don't disagree, but i think all those fancy scientists and their fancy models don't know what they are talking about. I can feel the wind and rain on my face and find it pleasant that my neighbor's old shack blew away.
Andrew Price
>turn left Its gonna go South? Is it just gonna miss Florida and then head to New Orleans?
Luis Ortiz
Have some faith, user. It's not over yet. Death, destruction and TABS will come to you if you just pray.

there is an hourly statement update lad

>If it does not turn left The models show it turning right from the direction of its path.
Nathan Anderson
Why isn't it going north? I have been watching a lot of different streams with good explanations that line up with what I already know that explain why the models are predicting that. Some of the models are changing now, but that is just because the storm itself is defying their T=0 conditions. The most logical explanation is that something about the forces directing this storm defies all of the most advanced weather models in the world. There's some yet unexplained phenomenon at work. I'm afraid this is going to be very bad. Unlike some of you sociopaths I do care about Bahamians and A. Florida Mann.
Heads north by daybreak (4 hours) or I will be cucked by a gorilla
Tyler Miller
Tha's rassis.

New much larger eyewall trying to form
James Johnson
it has not moved east, what the fuck kind of crack are you smoking you utter hypernigger
Camden Lee
Because the high pressure keeping it from going north is staying stronger than expected. The more south and west it goes, the longer too, the stronger the high pressure ridge is.

>Is anyone else eagerly awaiting whatever dumbass tweet Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will have in a few hours?
She will blame hurricane damage on racism, the NRA, Trump, Christians, global warming caused by production of red MAGA hats, and of course the female wage gap.
Well, there's probably hardly anyone there anyway at least.
Blake Carter
Go west young hurricane haven't you been told CommieFlorida full of niggers, kikes and the old

It's making a slight move North right now, whether that continues or not we'll just have to wait and see.

If they post anything besides sadness of the destruction they literally deserve to be raped to death. I hate when they politicize any mass death event.

on the bright side, the storm is now 1 pixel further from hitting me

This is the funniest argument on the internet tonite.
Tyler Price
It's not that I don't care about the individuals. It's that I see situations both as their local event and as their historical one. This is pretty fucking hype in some ways.
How can you tell? I just see a swirling mess.
Owen King
It did a loopty loop. It's going to hit Miami and then loopty loop and hit Fort Lauderdale, then loopty loop and hit West Palm Beach. Check em.
