To anyone with a brain, this is obvious. Over 95% of the personnel in the military have nothing to do with combat. That's not to say that they're not important parts of the military, but stupid people think everyone in a uniform has carried a firearm into dangerous combat to kill or be killed by an enemy and that's simply not the case at all. Even so, the 5% or so who actually are combat veterans, or if served in peace time were in units that would have been in combat, the United States has not fought a foreign power's military on its own soil for 171 years, and we won't count the Civil War since we fought ourselves. This means that every single person who has died in combat in the US military in:

Spanish-American war
WW1
WW2
Korea
Vietnam
Team American World Police actions (Mogadishu, Grenada, Kosovo, etc.)
Desert Storm
Afghanistan
Iraq II: Electric Boogaloo

Died for something other than preserving our nation, freedom, and American way of life, and even the most recent (Mexican-American war in 1848) is questionable as a fight for national preservation but rather a fight to establish territorial rights as expansionist powers, meaning the last time we fought for national survival would probably bump back to the War of 1812 making it over 200 years. I feel bad for most of them, since the majority are poor kids with few options just trying to avoid getting shot for Israel long enough to have affordable college.
