Despite what people think about Boston, the Police there are no joke. If you even look at them the wrong way, they will smash your face in. Actually, it looked like most of the defendants showed up without lawyers. According to the press, they were shocked by the judge's wrath. They thought they were going to waltz out of there with the charges dropped, and if it was up to the prosecution, they probably would have. Instead, they were all bound over and at least six of them were dragged out of court in handcuffs, including one smart ass who wouldn't take his hat off in court. I think he got cited for contempt.
