I would say that it should be lowered to 16, although we would need to discipline our youth more effectiently, the age is certainly not going to matter when you have undisciplined people and people should have more faith in youth now more than ever, but then again, youth has responsibilities too.

Why raise the voting age? Simply set a requirement that you must a) own property valued above a set amount, and b) have an annual income above a set amount (either from salary or investments is fine) so you are proven to be self-supporting.
