Soviet vs Afghan war.
What was the point, I'm finding it hard to find a more pointless war than this. Can our ex-Soviet posters chime in on this.

Soviet communists wanted to modernize it for globalism.
Now American communists are there to modernize it for globalism.
If you can find it, watch "9th Company".
Russian/Ukrainian "Full Metal Jacket" with some of the most intense battle scenes this side of the opening of "Saving Private Ryan."
wtf is your pic
Sorry, wrong pic. I meant to use this one.
Oh, I found you the battle scenes: youtube.com
>first fight
>russians shoot
>russians stop shooting
>sand niggers shoot
>sand niggers stop shooting
>russians now doing nothing shoot a rocket
how is this intense?
It works better when it's not edited by an amateur. The Battle of Elevation 3234 near the end of the film is great.
CIA used sunni islam to destabilize A-Stan,Soviets chimed in...got meatgrinded...CIA sunni islam developed into al-Queida and IS
The Soviets wanted warm water ports and thought they could eventually expand towards the Indian Ocean. It was about spreading the Revolution.
Yeah, its one of the best war movies I saw.
Also a reminder that when they wanted to film a village getting shelled by soviets, they simply built a real village and blew it up.
US afghan war!?
IIRC, the MLRS used in that scene were real. The military happened to need the training and jumped at the chance to level a village. Shame that it was filmed in Kazakstan and the geography was just a bit off.
Americas successful attempt to shit in the Soviet Unions backyard.
Basically
>Afghan communists decide to modernize Afghanistan and bring in modern concepts such as educating women, allowing women to drive, allowing women to own property
>hardline muslims decide it is all too much and contrary to the teachings of Muhammad
>retreat to mountains
>get supported by MURICA
>get all the latest tech weaponry and training from the United States
>proceed with insurgency and bog down the USSR war machine
It's basically the Soviet Union's Vietnam. It also dispels the notion that a bunch of goat herders managed to beat off the second best military superpower during the Cold War. The insurgents in Afghanistan got all the support, tech, weapons and training from the United States.
Local socialists disposed monarchy, started repressing relgious leaders and some iranian tribes, thus, starting a civil war. At first no one wanted to get dragged in, drawing analogy with Vietnam, but then, three things happened, decision to place Pershings in Germany, our military wanted to do something to balance positions, Islamic revolution in Iran, and reports about Amin approaching USA. So we answered his call for help by raiding his palace and shooting him, cause he was too radical commie, but by then it was too late.
Charlie Wilsons War is about how the US gave the sand niggers really good weapons
It was a proxy war to press the natives between judeo-marxists and judeo-capitalists. To decimate the native population, destroy their culture and traditions, make it a base for heroin cultivation, and reduce the people to serfdom while the great natural riches and mineral wealth are taken and given to foreigners to extract for the global capitalist economy.
Same thing has happened all over south America. All over Africa. In Vietnam. Cambodia. Nicaragua. Angola. Zimbabwe. Ethiopia. Somalia. Congo. Peru. Etc etc etc.... Seems to be a sort of formula for the third world. Or maybe for all of it.
I heard that the 40th Army veterans got treated really badly after the war, especially since the Soviet Union collapsed.
Yep. And somehow military think tanks today somehow conveniently forget America giving the best weapons and tech to Mujahideens during the Soviet-Afghan war when fighting insurgencies in the Middle East. Mujahideens are overrated. Were it not for the support and weapons of America, they would've been dust.
This.
The entire Cold war was nothing more than a giant A-B test between two different Jewish controlled economic systems. The jews wanted to see which one was better at enslaving the goyim and determined neo-liberal capitalism to be the fundamentally more totalitarian and oppressive one.
